As ya might imagine I had extra dirt left over from each trench dug. So instead of being a redneck, I shoveled the piles up. I took care of the 2 front piles for obvious reasons. I also yanked out 4 more bushes that I had trimed down to stubs last month. With the holes left over after the bushes came out I just saved some work and filled em in with the extra dirt. Tapered it as best as I could away from the house for better drainage and also removed all the dish network boxes and cables boxes and cables that were all strung up outside the house like a lazy redneck with a screw gun. I only have one pile of dirt to work on tomorrow and I guess I might get some grass and see if I can't get some to grow around the house to help keep soil from eroding.
Last thing today I tried my hand at was that "great stuff" foam in a can for doors and windows. That stuff is really GREAT! It's minimal expansion so it wont put extra pressure on your windows and lock em up. I am doing all I can for this coming winter to seal the house up as best as I can. Need to also get a few quotes for a new furnace. I would love to get a geothermal system in but I know those are not cheap. Tomorrow is the last day of my 11 day vacation (reason why I have posted so much the last week and a half.) Joel
