Well after getting about 5 quotes for furnaces I got a company picked out and they will be here in two weeks from today to put in the new 98% effiecient furnace. They also added a free whole house humidifier and 10 year parts and labor warranty to beat out the other quote. This was the company I wanted to get the job in the first place since they were so close to the house. Making any emergencies easier. But hopefully that will not be an issue for many years.
I also DID post a blog after I had done the movie shoot down in Detroit but somehow I either did not "save entry" or the internet connection was screwy and it didnt get sent. Which sucks cuz it was a big long well thought out entry about the whole experience. so long story sorta short: October 2nd my friend Rick V showed up at my house about 830am. We head to Teds in Eaton Rapids to meet up with him and Chris and Lance. Another guy in a truck went to breakfast and we met up with them once we were on our way. So on the highway convoy doing 45mpg heading for Pontiac. We pick up one more guy, Paul about half way down. We arrive at the Marriott where they put us up for the night. The guys who were cordinating this took us out to a nice resturant a few miles from where we were sleeping. Got back to the Marriott bout 9pm and most of us crashed since we were to get up at 3am the next morning. A few of the guys tho stayed up to watch the original Red Dawn movie. Which is the movie we were hired to help in but this is naturally a remake. So 3am hits Rick and I get up and dressed and load our bags into the humvee and meet up with the other guys. Warm up our trucks and we head out bout 45 mins later. We convoy for about a mile to the staging area in Detroit over near cobo arena. We sit and wait and talk for about 3 hours before anything really happens. Once about 730 hits we are lined up and the police escort us through the streets as we all blow red lights (which was the most fun part). We get to the ramp we are to start from and wait another 30 mins or so till all traffic on both lanes of the highway clear. We take off but the lead guy in the first humvee takes of much to fast for the rest of us in the larger trucks to keep up. (this guy was not in our original convoy and was with the movie people). So we line back up once we swing around and we do it again. This time we got it right. We are escorted back to our staging area by the police and we park. We are thanked for doing such a good job and only having to do 2 takes. Not bad for amatures, but veterans for driving our trucks. We then all head out about an hour after talking and hit an Olgas resturant and have lunch there. After lunch most of the guys go and fuel up and I not needing fuel head home in my humvee. Later that day once home my 15 year reunion is starting up at 8pm in downtown flint. I am tired but I get some sleep in and luckily make it. I get a ride to the reunion from my friend Jimmy and his wife Kelli. We stay till bout 1am and head home and hit the taco bell on the way. And THAT is what I call an over full day of stuff! WHEW
