Flint Online collects personal information about our users only during registration for the Flint Online service, from our use of "cookie" technology as you use the service and during entry into a Flint Online contest or sweepstakes.

Flint Online respects your right to privacy. As part of the registration process, we give you the opportunity to decline to receive any mailings from either Flint Online or other parties to whom Flint Online may provide such information.

The data we collect is used in the aggregate to give us demographic information about the entire Flint Online audience in order to improve the Flint Online service. The personal information you provide allows us to inform you about updates to the service and to notify you of products and services of Flint Online, its affiliates and third parties that we believe may be of interest to you. We also share aggregate information -- not individual data --with our advertisers to help them better understand our services and to monitor the reach of their advertising on the service.

Flint Online uses reasonable precautions to keep the personal information disclosed to us secure and to disclose such information only to third parties we believe to be responsible. However, we are not responsible for any breach of security or for any actions of any third parties which receive the information.

Privacy and Kids

Your child's privacy matters to us. Flint Online is a general audience web site that complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Under COPPA, no web site operator is permitted to require a child under the age of 13 to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity. Flint Online abides by this requirement.

Flint Online does not collect any personally identifying information, such as full name or address, regardless of its source, from registered members under 13, nor does it disclose the information it does collect to any third party for any purpose whatsoever. All registered members receive an e-mail confirming their Registration. In addition, when a child under 13 registers, he/she is required to provide the e-mail address of his/her parent or guardian and that parent or guardian receives an e-mail alerting them to that Registration. The parent or guardian may cancel the child's registration at any time, as described in the e-mail.

Registrants under 13 years of age may participate in Flint Online's online Chat, Message Boards. Parent or guardian's permission is required for any child under 18.
